Shark Tank – GobieH2O

Posted on by admin in Cool Projects | Leave a comment

Gobie H2O was featured on the popular national television show ‘Shark Tank’– where companies present their products to investors typically offering a percentage value for a cash investment in their company. Gobie H2O appeared on the last episode of the season– see it Here– and received a lot of attention. They decided they needed a video to help showcase the awesome features the GobieH2O water bottle has to offer.

On a short timeline, we put together an energetic video sharing lifestyle shots of people using their Gobie and included motion graphics to help display the features.

Webb AV: LifeVantage Global Convention

Posted on by admin in Cool Projects, Events, Media Industry | Leave a comment

It was great working with our friends at Webb AV again on the LifeVantage Global Convention. We like pushing the envelope and love turning an event into an immersive media experience. While the screen wasn’t nearly as large as the Nu Skin convention opener, it was awesome to utilize video mapping to bring the static stage to life.

We’ve created media for professional sports stadiums and scores of corporate conventions, but video mapping is different. Our work has always been segregated, imprisoned in its rectangle box. With video mapping, now you can transform just about any surface into a screen. It’s a fun medium upon which to tell a story – physical architecture.

We had our video mapping team on-site for the entire event to make last minute adjustments and cater to the whims of the client. Despite the usual, crazy long hours, the show was a success and looked great

Shooting Hoops: UVU Basketball Spot

Posted on by admin in blog, Cool Projects, Film Production | Leave a comment

Our most recent work lead us to the basketball courts to shoot some hoops– literally. Ok, so we weren’t the ones making all the slam dunks, but we definitely put up some good shots.

Before the holiday break, we rounded up some UVU Basketball players, some wolverine fans, a few cheerleaders and our camera crew to recreate a game scene as part of our (coming soon) UVU Basketball spot.

Take a look at how our day went!

We started the day at 8:30 a.m.– Bryce and Joe planning the scene

Our DP (Director of Photography), Paul, setting up the Epic Red Camera

Once our actors arrived we were able to start filming:

The ‘set’

Our actors were real basketball players–all over six feet tall

Zach and Paul watching closely

Jacob and Bryce hard at work

It looks pretty real, doesn’t it?

Filming the crowd cheer

And then we moved outside to shoot the rest of our story…

Our second set of the day

Filming outside- it was really cold

Filming the younger actors for the spot

Third location- inside the house with the younger actors

Filming some of our last shots for the day

We wrapped up our day around 8 p.m. Although long (and cold) it was well worth it for all the awesome shots we filmed. We are excited to share the final product with you, so make sure to check back to see our UVU Basketball spot.

*A special thanks goes to Aya Photography for all the fabulous photos. Sassy and fun, she was a blast to work with!

CEO.com

DOMO came to us with a video request. They wanted an animated info-graphic style video that would be entertaining, interesting and informative.  We put our heads together and came up with the idea to use vintage characters and clean lines to help tell our story in the CEO social media showdown. The animation was for DOMO’s CEO.com website where it was placed front and center for all to see. It was the battle of the ages. Fortune 500 CEOs versus Inc 500 CEOs in a battle to see which group was more social– on the internet anyways. Results are in, so take a peek and find out who is our winner!

Like a Kid on Christmas…

Posted on by admin in Cool Projects, Film Production, Media Industry | Leave a comment

The other day we received a whole slew of packages, and when they came our whole office was buzzing. All we wanted to do was tear into those packages like a kid on Christmas morning and start playing with our new toys. In this case however, it was our new Kessler crane. If you’re not sure what that is, check it out HERE. We purchased a slider, a shuttle pod, a pan and tilt system, and other motion control accessories.

It took a while, but after unpacking all the parts and putting it together, we now had to figure out how to use it all. We spent the last two days practicing and making sure everything was picture perfect for our upcoming shoot.

You may be wondering what exactly this equipment does and what we plan to do with it. Well let me show you the capabilities this now presents:

Behind the Scenes with Goal Zero

Posted on by admin in Cool Projects, Film Production | Leave a comment

Camping. Hiking. Backpacking. Who knew you could do all this and keep your electronic devices charged for more than a day? Well Goal Zero makes it possible. They specialize in solar power gear and they make it look cool.

Recently, we filmed a short web video featuring Goal Zero’s “sherpa and switch.” The sherpa and switch are both portable batteries. The Switch charges usb devices and can be plugged in to a wall unit, one of Goal Zero’s solar panels or via usb plug. The sherpa is a larger portable battery that can be charged by plugging it in or solar power. Luckily, I got to tag along on this shoot and experience the ins and outs of video production first hand.

Although the web video was short, our day was quite the opposite. We started in Salt Lake City at 9 a.m. and made our way to our first location at the Salt Lake City Airport. At first, there were a lot of people around, most of which were curious about our project. However, once the area cleared out we enlisted the help of everyone in the crew to play extras. You can even see most of us walking by in the videos–which are soon to come.

Next, we left the air conditioned airport for a tiny coffee shop in downtown SLC. It was quaint and cute, but with the summer heat and all those bodies inside, I was ready to go back to the airport– or to a pool.

We moved on to our third location of the day to a beautiful home in Cottonwood Heights. We took advantage of the comfortable couches and air conditioning here. We were happy campers as you can see from our film crew below.

Our last location took us on a drive up Little Cottonwood Canyon around 6 p.m. The scenery was beautiful. We got there just in time to have enough light to film and also enjoy the picturesque sunset.

Then, around 9 p.m. we finally decided to call it a day. Between the heat, the driving, and all the acting, we were worn out. We packed up our stuff and went home. You can bet we slept well that night.

Although long, we were able to get some great footage that tells all about the sherpa and switch. Once we finish it, we’ll post it for you to see. Be on the lookout for our up and coming Goal Zero video!

The Latest and Greatest: Launch Leads

Posted on by admin in Cool Projects | Leave a comment

A potential customer is 210 times more likely to pick up his phone if you contact him within 5 minutes of his request, than if you wait just one hour.

This is Launch Leads’ business. They make sure potential clients are contacted when their availability and attention is at its highest. Our business is crafting stories through visuals. So we made sure to put together an entertaining and informative piece to help Launch Leads tell their story.

Using a 5d Mark III and glide cam, we shot this video with the intent to motion track certain clips and input graphics into the scene. Not an easy feat. However, with our talented crew, we managed to use 2d tracking, 3d tracking and mocha tracking to input these graphics.

Our original graphics we intended to use were quite different than our final video. In fact, the first style we made was based off the popular movie “Avengers” graphics. However, this style didn’t fit with the brand, so we went back to the drawing board and modified the style for a cleaner and more simple look.

Look at our final product and let us know what you think!
